Riga Central Park Apartment

There’s a large shopping centre across the road, with supermarkets, KFC, and more, and the bus and train stations are close. Staff aren’t there around the clock, though someone is always around in the morning, and they’re friendly. The beds are firm, clean, and soft. Rooms are tidy, and there’s always free tea, coffee, and cacao drinks, plus a fridge, microwave, clean plates and cups, and tables for eating. It’s cheap, and I like the place enough to have stayed five or six times already.

I stayed one night with a friend on 26.03 in a separate room. It was clean, though it still needed repairs. There are several toilets, sinks, and showers, plus a small kitchen. The room was warm, but the WC was cold. It’s close to the center and both the train and bus stations, so it works well for a night or a few. Staff speak Russian, if that matters. I had to call them to find out how to get inside.

The good things were the price, the quiet location, a nicely furnished room, a refrigerator, and staff who responded quickly to requests. On the downside, the room wasn’t cleaned properly, and the women’s toilet smelled bad all the time. The toilet and shower were tiny, the kitchen was small and only had a microwave, and soundproofing was poor. Staff were in another part of the building and didn’t seem very talkative or interested.

The rooms are tiny, but I’m fine with that. There’s noise outside the window. The toilet light switches on automatically, which is nice. If you arrive at the wrong time, you can call the manager. One room costs €25 a night.
