Princesse Ilham

The room was freezing, the air conditioning didn’t work, the mattress was uncomfortable, and hot water ran out quickly, enough for only one person. The blankets were dirty and smelled bad. The housekeeper took away the two dirty blankets and left just one, saying it wasn’t cold. There was also no parking at the property, so we paid to use nearby public parking. The room had mold and a very strong, unpleasant smell. When I politely asked the owner, Ilham, to change the blankets and asked if we could move rooms because of the mold, she responded rudely and aggressively, raising her voice in a completely inappropriate way. The value for money is clearly poor. This place isn’t worth what they charge.

The first day’s breakfast was good, but for the next three days we were served leftovers. We were also asked to pay twice. The owner denied receiving the full cash payment we had already made and demanded another full payment. Ask for a receipt, they’re scammers. The AC remote wasn’t provided, apparently so we couldn’t use it. When we asked, they kept us waiting and never brought it. The toilets smell a lot, too. Terrible experience, and there are plenty of better options nearby. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this place.

The bathroom smelled really bad, and I think the plumbing had a problem. The Wi-Fi didn’t work either; Ilham said the internet provider was having trouble. Even so, she was kind enough to let us use the bathroom again after we checked out and returned from a walk a few hours later. We thought our suite was on the first floor, but she put us on the third floor, which had an amazing view. We couldn’t find the parking behind the hotel, and Ilham did her best to explain the directions. She was very helpful and welcoming, and the hotel was nice enough.

I arrived for a prepaid reservation, but they wouldn’t honor my two-night booking and said the place was already full. At first, they told me they weren’t “Hotel Princesse Ilham” and didn’t know where it was. The locals I asked for help insisted this was the place. They helped knock on the door again, but the same woman wouldn’t come out and spoke through the window, then admitted it was the hotel but said it was full. I called the agency I had booked through, but when they tried calling the hotel, no one answered to sort it out. Do not book here!
