Riad Loubana

The whole building smelled of mold and dust, and there was so much mold throughout that my partner and I had breathing problems and irritated eyes. When we left, the owner denied it was mold and said it was oil. The bathroom had plumbing trouble and a strong sewer smell, and the showerhead was broken. On arrival, a lightbulb burst because of electrical issues. There’s no light in the staircase, so the owner puts candles there, which is a fire hazard. We arrived too late to find somewhere else, so we left first thing in the morning. I’ve stayed in squatted houses that were better and cleaner :') I’m also uneasy that there seem to have been locks on the outside of the doors. They’ve been removed now, but I’m glad I wasn’t there alone. The Airbnb reviews aren’t accurate; other platforms show what it’s really like. Don't go here.

I’d strongly advise against staying here. Our room and bathroom had a huge fungus with visible fruiting bodies, which wasn’t surprising given there were no windows or air conditioning. The whole place was poorly lit, smelled bad, and had malfunctioning devices. It’s on a little dirty street. The owner was chaotic and pushy, wouldn’t acknowledge the hygiene problem, and went completely unresponsive during the cancellation process.

The host was very professional, attentive, and fine to deal with, and the Riad was comfortable. It’s on a quiet side street near one of the main entrances to the Medina. There’s a nice terrace, plus a special touch from the art and murals 😏

I had an amazing stay at Riad Loubana. The rooms are beautiful, the service was excellent, and the location is fantastic. Highly recommend it, and I’ll definitely be back!
