Hotel ibis Fes

We found it easy to park, and the hotel is close to the train station. Rooms are clean, with a simple, comfortable setup, and the staff were friendly and efficient. The location is usually handy for transport and key areas. A good, affordable option for a short stay.

At about 700 dirham a night, I'd choose a B&B for much better sleep and facilities. The rooms were noisy, and the AC blew air that smelled mouldy. I needed earplugs and noise-cancelling headphones just to try to sleep. It wasn't peak summer, luckily, or I suspect the AC could've been a problem too. I won't stay here again. I had booked and paid for a double room with a balcony, but wasn't given it. I was moved three times before ending up in a balcony room that smelled of paint, so I often had to leave and air it out with the balcony door open. The shower was powerful but dated. Breakfast was no good either, so go to one of the local shops across the road for better value.

The pool is lovely, with lots of palm trees, and the basic Ibis-style room was fine for the really low price, even at Christmas. We stayed three days during the African Cup, when big tour groups arrived every day, and the staff did their best to handle the rush. The location is excellent, right beside Fes train station. There's also an airport bus stop a one-minute walk from the hotel.

I had an amazing one-night stay and would gladly return. The location was great, and service at reception and in the restaurant was spot on. Excellent value for money.
