The peaceful setting was a welcome break between visits to Morocco’s busier cities, and Marrakech is only about 35 minutes away. The Capaldi has lovely grounds, gardens and pools, and our room was beautifully designed and comfortable. The restaurant team made us plenty of tasty vegetarian food, even cooking fresh potato crisps by hand when I wanted a daytime snack. Carol was a big part of what made the stay special: she greeted us when we arrived, said goodbye when we left, and checked in during our stay. She and the team were happy to help with anything. I’d hoped for more Moroccan culture in the hotel itself. After talking with the owner, I understood that he was aiming for a more purely Western luxury experience. I would have liked more traditional Moroccan dishes on the menu, and more chances to chat with staff about their culture and learn a few words of the language. They were very friendly, though at times it seemed they were discouraged from speaking Arabic or sharing much about Morocco. We would have enjoyed those connections, even without being waited on formally all the time. There’s plenty of local culture to explore nearby, including on a day trip to Marrakech. Thank you, Capaldi, for a lovely stay.

The Atlas Mountains made a stunning backdrop, and the hotel grounds felt spacious and peaceful, with two lovely pools. Our deluxe suite had two private terraces, which made the stay feel especially relaxing. The whole place is furnished with care in a traditional Moroccan style, giving it a warm, authentic feel. Ed, the owner, runs the hotel with clear attention to detail. Service was excellent from reception to housekeeping and the restaurant team, all friendly, attentive and professional. We also loved the restaurant, where the menu changes each day and the food was consistently delicious. We enjoyed every part of our stay and have already booked to come back. Highly recommended.

After a hectic lead-up to Christmas and a busy year, we really needed time to unwind, and The Capaldi gave us plenty of that. Our pool suite was just right for relaxing, even when the weather was cloudy. We also got out and about, with a couple of hikes, a visit to the Berber market, and an afternoon and evening in Marrakesh. Dinner menus at The Capaldi were fabulous, though there wasn’t much choice for vegetarians or anyone who prefers veggie dishes.

The Capaldi felt like a little slice of heaven. The Atlas Mountain views around the hotel are some of the best I’ve ever seen, and the heated pool was amazing. Loved the open fires inside and out, and the food was delicious. Absolute class, couldn’t recommend it more.

We spent two days unwinding by the pool between the desert and our trip to Marrakesh. Carol was fantastic at making us feel welcome, and our first hammam at the spa was wonderful. The hotel and grounds are stunning, with superb attention to detail in the decor and the flowers at the entrance. Thank you, Capaldi!
