Kenzi Menara Palace & Resort

Taib at the Italian restaurant looked after me so well on some special evenings, as did his colleague at the Marrocain restaurant, though I don’t know that colleague’s name. The hospitality was very high. The gardens were beautiful and well maintained, and there are plenty of places to eat and enjoy yourself.

Our arrival got off to a rocky start when we were told there’d been a booking mistake and no room was available. Since we were traveling with an infant, that was disappointing, but the staff handled it professionally and arranged a transfer to the other Kenzi property. They upgraded us and offered several complimentary gestures, which we appreciated. Everyone was friendly and went out of their way to make our family comfortable. The rooms were very clean and well maintained, and the stay ended up being a positive experience. I’d consider staying with Kenzi again because of how kindly they handled the problem.

We paid 800 dirhams for lunch for two at the hotel on our first day. A good lunch outside could easily cost around 300-400 dirhams, and bottled water at the bar was nearly ten times supermarket prices. The buffet barely changed over our nine days, and the selection was disappointing. The staff and hospitality need a lot of improvement and training. Very few employees smiled, and sometimes I felt uncomfortable ordering at the grill or pancake station. Guests should feel welcome, not hesitant. Maintenance was another major issue. The shower door wouldn’t shut properly, leaving a “lake” in the bathroom after every shower. The hotel seems to have been built with good materials, but has since been neglected. Mosaic tiles were coming off in the pool, lights were missing, and we saw a cable in the water that didn’t seem properly isolated, which was concerning. I hope nobody tries to switch those lights on while guests are swimming. The gym equipment was old and outdated, and the spa had missing tiles and was poorly kept. The heated pool didn’t feel heated at all, with water no warmer than 17-18 degrees. The hotel was acceptable, but I wouldn’t return. It has potential, but without proper maintenance, better staff training, and better value for money, it doesn’t meet expectations.

The team were warm, professional, and ready to help during our delightful stay at the Kenzi Menara Palace. I’m especially thankful to the animation staff and to Soussou, whose enthusiasm and genuine kindness added something special to our holiday.
