Riad Ra Ve D Antan Spa

It's easy to find, right off the main road rather than tucked deep inside the alleys. I felt safe and well looked after as a solo female traveller. The service and breakfast were both great, and the riad is a five-minute walk from the tombs and about 15-20 minutes from the Souks. There was also a pool where kids were playing. I had a lovely stay at Riad Reve D’Antan and would come back.

My airline cancelled the trip, and I couldn't change the reservation. The hotel said I could come another time, but when I tried to do that, they refused and kept the money.

The breakfast was awful for the price: a little bread, coffee, and two teaspoons each of three jams. You'd be better off eating outside. The shower was nothing like the photos, just a tiny shower, toilet, and sink in a space under 1.5 by 1 metre. We requested single beds as shown in the pictures, but apparently the place only has doubles. A travel bed wasn't available either. They offered only a mattress as hard as the floor, with no real difference. The worst part was the owner and contact person, Osman, lying about having another room and saying he could sort things out. When it came time to act, he didn't care, blamed us for not asking later, or came up with other reasons.

The staff, Brahim and Oussama, treated us correctly. But the place was outdated and dirty overall. We booked the De Lux room through Booking for three nights and got the one with the blue headboard, which was small, dark, and nothing like the appealing photos. The shower tray was clogged and overflowed, and the toilet wasn't fixed to the floor. The pool was smaller than it looked in the photos and poorly clean, with nowhere to relax. Interior construction work in the afternoons was so noisy that we couldn't rest. We complained about the conditions, but because the booking was non-refundable we couldn't cancel without paying. For the final night they offered us the suite, which had the same features but was larger. The price didn't make sense for what we got, and we don't understand its Booking score.
