Domaine des Remparts Hotel & Spa

Halfway through our stay, everything has been perfect. The hotel is stunning and super clean, and the staff are so welcoming and attentive to every detail. I’m here with my mum, and they’ve been really helpful with all our questions. We were a little worried at first because it’s such a cultural change for us, but it feels safe and it’s easy to get around to the places we want to visit. Transport is simple, too. The food is delicious, and breakfast has so much choice and variety. Thank you!

We decided to leave two days early because we realized this place wasn’t for us, though it wasn’t because the staff had done anything wrong. Karima at reception was very kind and helpful the whole time. We asked whether we could get a refund for those two nights, but that wasn’t possible. The hotel feels more like four stars than five. There isn’t much to do besides sit by the pool, and there’s one restaurant for breakfast and another by the pool for lunch, which I wouldn’t recommend. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere, with nothing nearby to walk to. The night before we left, we found a huge cockroach in the toilet. I got scared and ran out of the room, then asked my husband to get rid of it. At checkout I told the staff, and they asked, “did you take a picture of it?” I hadn’t. I suggested they address the problem since I’d seen other comments mentioning cockroaches too. They offered me a free massage because of the incident, but I would have rather paid for it than have that cockroach next to me in the bathroom. For a five-star hotel, that was unacceptable.

The garden is a lovely part of this oasis just beyond the bustle of Marrakesh. It’s private, beautifully tended, full of shady spots, and scented with orange blossom. Artwork in the rooms and shared spaces feels interesting and authentic, and fresh garden flowers greeted us in our room and at breakfast. The spacious, cool rooms are close to the pools and restaurants. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, and the friendly, chatty owner was often around. He even enjoyed watching Champions League football with our families. The restaurant menus are simple and might start to feel repetitive after four days, but the city is close enough to pop back into easily. We had an excellent few days here.

Our stay in the Lodge, a luxurious tent, felt wonderfully romantic, with everything we needed, a four-poster bed, and a terrace. From the moment we came through the gates, the place felt like a peaceful paradise. The hotel is beautifully designed, with incredible art and textiles throughout, and the pool and lush gardens are kept in lovely condition. All the staff were wonderful. We couldn’t fault anything and will be back. Thank you for such a perfect stay!
