Grand Plaza Marrakech Hotel

The hotel is in a very handy spot, within a short walk of Gueliz Market and Menara Mall, next to the railway station, and close to the central square. We didn’t need transport to get around, though the location could be noisy at times. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Breakfast was a highlight, with lots of choices, and the pool area was large. Service was excellent. The place feels a little dated and not especially high-tech. Some doors are old, the latches a bit loose, and there was a little mold in a few spots. It was all manageable and didn’t spoil our stay. A grand, fantastic hotel.

We were moved between three rooms, and the A/C failed in every one. We’d spent two weeks in Morocco, and the A/C worked well at all the other hotels. The lobby gave us all sorts of explanations for why it wasn’t working. I definitely wouldn’t recommend staying here.

The food was very good from breakfast through dinner. There were five of us, and all the dishes arrived promptly, hot, and tasty. We ate in a private room away from the main concourse, which gave us the privacy we wanted. Abderazzak, from the food hall, deserves a special mention. He personally looked after us every day, checking that we had more to drink before our glasses were empty and offering more food. His colleagues were great too. People like him are a real asset to a hotel. Big up yourself, Abderazzak 🫡🫡🫡 The hotel was very clean. I didn’t see a single bug or anything that made the place feel dirty. Nothing is perfect, but there was nothing significant to complain about. The TVs worked fully, and the spa treatment was great. Mariam, my massage therapist, was a skilled professional, and the spa staff treated me like a king. The staff were courteous, friendly, and helpful. The hotel is near a shopping mall, Marrakesh train station, and plenty of places to eat, with a little bowling alley right next door that was cool to visit. The food was amazing, and breakfast was included in our stay. You can add dinner or eat at the restaurants as you go. Rooms were lovely and cleaned every day, and the staff were consistently polite, friendly, and helpful. The pool is beautiful, gets sun all day, and has towels provided. There’s bowling right next door. The hotel is brilliantly located beside the station and within walking distance of most shops and restaurants. One small thing to know: there’s just one complimentary tea and coffee sachet on arrival, it isn’t replenished daily, and there’s no milk. The room does have a bar fridge. Highly recommend.
