It’s cheap and cheerful, but it doesn’t feel like a four-star hotel. The pool and gardens are nice, and the rooms have good Wi-Fi, though they could use some refurbishing. The AC wasn’t working in April. Breakfast is included in the price, but could be better. The room safe costs 25 dirhams per day. You get what you pay for.

Terrible hotel, avoid at all cost. We booked through Logitravel France, but when we arrived to check in they said we’d paid too little and refused to give us a room. I’ve never seen anything like that. The lobby also looked rundown and unclean.

My friend and I stayed at The Tichka Hotel in September 2012 and loved it. We’d read some bad reviews beforehand but couldn’t understand why. The hotel is beautiful, maybe a little tired, but that adds to its charm and authenticity. The staff were always polite and helpful, and the food was delicious. The pool was clean and just the right temperature. The singer outside while we ate had the most beautiful voice. Muhammed, the taxi driver outside the hotel, was wonderful. He’d take you anywhere, wait if you wanted, bring you back, and not rip you off. We’d definitely recommend The Tichka.

The place looks like it needs to be demolished. Tiles and flooring are ripped up, there’s no air conditioning, and the electricity is off half the time. It felt worse than a prison cell. Avoid it, they’re thieves.

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is good. The hotel is showing its age, though, and really needs renovation and redecorating.
