Palais Mehdi Guest house

The staff were the best part for me, so warm, helpful, and accommodating that they made us feel at home. Palais Mehdi is set somewhere quiet with little traffic, which gives it a peaceful, oasis-like feel. Its large, luxurious rooms sit alongside a lovely garden and pool, with Moroccan architecture that looks stunning. There are shops and services within walking distance, and the Palmeraie conference center is just 1600m away. We ate very well at the hotel restaurant, including some excellent Moroccan dishes, and breakfast is included.

We had such a relaxing time here and would definitely come back. The grounds and pool were really well looked after, and the staff were lovely and happy to arrange a taxi whenever we asked. Our suite was huge and beautifully decorated. We could have breakfast in the suite, with either continental food or traditional Marrakesh options. The hotel is about a 20-minute drive from both the airport and the Medina. Such a beautiful hotel, we loved our stay.

We took over Palais for a May wedding anniversary with friends and family, and it was even better than we expected. The grounds were kept beautifully, the pool was clean, and the artwork alone felt like a gallery. Our suites were very comfortable, and the food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were knowledgeable and incredibly helpful, and nothing seemed like too much trouble. I can't recommend it highly enough. It makes a perfect break from the city.

The breakfast let the place down: plenty of bread, orange juice and eggs, but just Kiri cheese, with no yogurt or fruit. The welcome was also less generous than at other similar hotels we've stayed in, in a dim office that smelled of smoke, without welcome drinks or snacks. Aside from that, it's a very fancy, quiet, spotless hotel, with a huge amount of artwork, a big pool in well-kept gardens, and a gym that works. There are better places to stay in Palmiere.
