We were exhausted and hadn’t slept when we arrived, but the welcome was lovely. They booked an airport taxi and let us in early while our room was being prepared. Mimo helped us, and after serving wonderful mint tea and biscuits, the staff suggested we sleep for a few hours and have a late lunch. The whole riad smelled lovely, and it’s a beautiful, charming place full of character. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with plenty of bedding. The shower was good and there was a hair dryer. It’s about a 20-minute walk to the main square, jmaa el fnaa. The food and hospitality are the standouts. The tajine lunch was delicious, a three-course meal with Moroccan salad, a main dish, and oranges with cinnamon for dessert. Breakfast is included and was varied and plentiful, freshly cooked, piping hot, and served so well it felt like a five-star hotel. They didn’t have rooms for the rest of our stay, so we booked another riad. But we went back to riad Alaka for the food and hospitality, which were the best in Marrakesh. Even if their rooms are booked, stay with them for a meal too. We certainly did, and will always remember the good Moroccan food at Riad Alaka.

Mimoun and Omar made us feel at home with their warm hospitality. The riad was peaceful, we slept really well, and waking to birdsong was a lovely touch. Breakfast was delicious too. Thanks for a warm and memorable stay!

They made me feel like family at Riad Alaka, with staff going out of their way to make us comfortable. For my birthday they decorated the room with rose petals and towels folded into swans, it looked gorgeous. The food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner was incredible. If you’re visiting Marrakesh, you have to stay here!

Everything was great, from the friendly staff and perfect service to the lovely location. Riad Alaka in Marrakech is beautiful and quiet, and feels just like home. It always smells so fresh and wonderful inside. We’d definitely return, highly recommend!

It’s very quiet here, and with thin walls it doesn’t seem suited to loud people. Still, for the price, I’d give the riad 10/10, and it felt super safe. We were three girls and felt fine in the alleyway by the market. The location is really good. Service was average overall. The man on night shift was lovely and the chefs were wonderful, but the daytime lady was pushy and got rude and dismissive when we didn’t buy her packages. She initially refused to take my card and walk me to the uber, even though that had been the agreement.
