The mattress was firm and comfortable, and the air conditioning worked. The rooms, though, are really old and need repairs. The shower head holder is broken, the bidet leaks, and the covers around all the power sockets are coming loose. We were in the ground-floor room next to the kitchen and may have been unlucky, but on two of our three nights, inconsiderate guests woke us early with shouting and banging doors, or with music and drunken rambling at 4 AM. The morning call to prayer sounded as if it was being broadcast straight into our room. Our host Hassan was friendly, met us at the outside parking area and showed us the way to the Riad, and gave us lots of information. I wouldn’t stay there again. One correction to my earlier review: I’ve just realized that the person I thought was a drunken guest was actually Hassan himself.

Clean and tidy, and only a 20-minute walk from the markets. There are plenty of places nearby to eat and have coffee.

Owners Viviane and Daniel were wonderful hosts, and I felt safe and comfortable at their Riad. I was very happy with my three-night stay at Riad Andaloussia in Marrakesh. I recommend staying here.

It’s basic accommodation in a lively part of the medina, and getting there can be a little tricky. Hassan gives you the directions you need. There was a mosque nearby, but I sleep very deeply and didn’t notice the early morning call to prayer, so noise wasn’t a problem for me. There are bars, shops and even a hammam close by.

Abdel is very welcoming, and the comfortable riad is well placed for exploring the Medina and everyday life in Marrakech. Breakfast is fantastic too. No need to call the previous manager, everything at Riad Andouloussia is great.
