Riad Aubrac

The riad is beautiful and spacious, tucked away in the medina while still right in its centre. The staff were fantastic, especially the man who looked after us throughout the stay. Sorry, I don't know your name, but you were there when we checked out today. Thanks so much for the hospitality. My husband and I had a great stay and would highly recommend it. We look forward to coming back.

The quiet atmosphere, rustic traditional feel, and city views from the rooftop terrace made this stay special. At night the terrace is simply marvellous. There was also a small but good pool, and breakfast was very good. The comfortable rooms, spotless bathroom, and daily cleaning all added to it. Wi-Fi worked very well throughout the riad. I was treated better here than at other hotels I've stayed in. The manager and staff gave excellent service, and I loved them. The tour booking service was great too, with several partnerships offering good quality at good prices. I loved my days at Riad Aubrac, and I'd come back without hesitation.

Kaoutar, the manager, welcomed us so warmly once we got inside, and her excellent English helped her sort out small and big problems for us each day. Our ground floor room was clean, cool, and quiet. We stayed for a week because my wife uses a wheelchair. Getting to the door with Walid, the doorman, through alleys full of wild cats was a slightly worrying first impression, but we needn't have worried. The riad is very central in the Medina, the old walled heart of Marrakech, and a 10-minute walk from Jemaa el-Fna, the huge main square. Izza and Fatima cooked one of our favorite meals of the trip, delicious, proper home cooking. Incredible value for money and wonderful staff. We'll definitely return.

The toilet and shower only had a curtain between them and the room, so there wasn't much privacy, though there was plenty of hot water. It's a comfortable place with friendly, helpful staff and a decent breakfast. Not luxury, but a lovely authentic Moroccan stay in a very good Medina location. I'd recommend it if you'd rather have a real Moroccan experience than an anonymous hotel.
