Riad Dar Nadwa

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were really kind and helpful. The beds, though, were hard as rocks, and the bathroom had a slight sewer smell. I guess that’s normal in a traditional home. Otherwise, a very nice riad.

The local feel made this riad a whole experience for me. It’s a beautiful place, the staff are so kind, and the service was perfect from beginning to end. Everything felt warm, authentic, and well cared for. Definitely one of the best stays in Marr.

We were greeted with mint tea and sweets, and Said and Omar were warm, funny, and happy to help with whatever we needed. Breakfast was tasty. You can also have a traditional meal cooked in the riad, though we didn’t get to try it. It took us most of the way to the Riad to take a yellow airport cab, followed by a short three-minute walk. The riad is a beautiful traditional place in the northern Medina. The area around it is decent, but most sights and souks are about a 15-minute walk into the Medina. Nearby taxis can take you to the more central areas for around 30 MAD, depending on your bargaining. One tip: some young locals may claim areas are closed and offer to guide you. Just ignore them and follow Google Maps. It’s a common scam in parts of the Medina, so don’t be scared.

Said was such a cool, lovely host and did everything for us. The welcome was incredibly personal and warm, probably the friendliest place I’ve ever stayed. The place itself was fantastic, with good rooms and a tasty, complimentary breakfast. It’s a little far out, but easy enough to reach by taxi.
