Riad Jnane Mogador

The breakfast was generous, served on a lovely terrace with a view across the city. I also found it easy to walk to the market from here. As a woman travelling alone, I felt well treated: the staff were friendly and respectful, including the waiter Radoume.

Although the riad is tucked into a corner away from the crowds, the main square is just a short walk away. They upgraded my room for free, which was a nice surprise, and the receptionist answered my questions. Breakfast service was good too. I had to leave quickly for a tour, but they still put together a simple, quick breakfast for me.

My favourite bit was having breakfast on the rooftop. The location is central and makes it easy to get to all the tourist spots around Marrakech.

I came here after a bad stay at another Riad and felt relieved by the simple, welcoming hospitality. It was good for me as a solo female traveller, and they quickly helped me switch rooms and lent me a charger plug when I needed one. Just take care choosing a room: one had very large cockroaches. You can call the men at any hour to change rooms or catch them. It was pretty funny and entertaining, and my second room had none. They didn’t have harsha, but the pancakes were good.
