Riad Dar Serenity

Mona (The cleaning lady) was very nice, and the male manager was helpful after we paid him for assistance. But the room was gross, especially the bathroom. It smelled more of mildew and mold than any room I’ve stayed in, and I’m entitled to my opinion about that. We were the only guests, and I can see why. The female manager lied about the road conditions to persuade us to stay another night. The address shown on maps is wrong, so mark the place on your phone or you may not find it when you return. The main square is at least a 25-minute walk, maybe 30, not 10 minutes. Repeating that claim only reinforces my point that you say whatever you want to get people to stay, whether it’s true or not. This is no way to grow a business, and it seems like management isn’t trying to improve the property or the employees. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!

The rooms were always clean and the food was very nice. Hushna, the manager, was kind and helpful, and Rachid was just as kind, always willing to help with anything. Nice hotel and friendly staff.

The upstairs terrace was absolutely divine, and we felt safe at the riad and in the area. Our room was comfortable and had AC. It’s a few minutes’ walk from the souk and plenty of food options and sights, and about a 10ish minute walk from Bab(gate) Aylan. You can’t be dropped at the door. Hassna, the manager, made a point of checking in at least once. Rachid on the night shift showed us places to visit, gave us a map, and pulled up some of his favorite spots on his phone. The day staff woman was so sweet too, though I feel terrible that I didn’t get her name. She did our laundry, and she cooked us dinner that was the most delicious thing we ate in Marrakech. We’d stay here again!

The terrace was the highlight for me. The place is quiet and cozy, and the staff were attentive, welcoming us with tea and working around our plans.
