The price made this stay worthwhile. Reception and service were great, and we could lock our room. The place is about five minutes from the FNA, hidden off a main Medina route in a narrow path. The entrance is easy to miss, and the winding alley can feel creepy if you're alone. I'd recommend having Organic Maps, the offline Android map app, to find it. The room was the most basic we've ever had in a riad: white walls and three single beds in a U shape, nothing else. The bathroom drain was clogged, so we couldn't shower for more than a minute. The beds were hard, which I like, but my wife got back pain. On the terrace they serve a simple Moroccan breakfast: coffee, mint tea, orange juice, a boiled egg that wasn't properly cooked, Moroccan bread, soft cheese, apricot jam, and a msemen pancake.

Youssef was incredibly accommodating when our train was delayed and we arrived late. He went out of his way to meet our needs, even taking us to a nearby convenience store after 11PM. The rooms were clean and well kept, with plenty of power outlets and strong AC. Breakfast was tasty, and the terrace view was very pretty. My friends and I had a great time here.

The evening meals were very good, especially since we were a group, and breakfast was plentiful, though it was the same each day. Youssuf is a wonderful host who tries to meet most of his guests' wishes. There are a few minor shortcomings, but they add to the riad's authentic feel. We were glad to find this place in the heart of Marrakech.
