Riad La Lune de Marrakech

We had the Deluxe Suite, with lovely detailed furnishings, a comfortable bed, and a striking Oriental-style bathtub. La Lune Riad is tucked onto a quiet side street, so it felt peaceful even though it’s centrally located. The staff made check-in easy and were very welcoming. It’s a beautiful traditional riad with modern comforts, and the price felt like great value. A real oasis in Marrakech, highly recommend.

We’d definitely come back. The location puts you among cafes, restaurants, and market stalls, with the major attractions about a 10-minute walk away. At night it was peaceful, without the usual plumbing noise, and the air-conditioning worked well in the heat. Mohamed and his team made the place feel warm and family-like, while staying professional and making sure we had what we needed. We spent a week at Riad La Lune, and it was spotless. Mohamed stays on site overnight, which felt reassuring, and staff looked after our valuables around the clock. A really homely, authentic Moroccan stay.

The location is fantastic if you want to shop in the Souks or visit Jemaa al fna, and the staff were welcoming. They greeted us with tea and biscuits, and the Riad was VERY clean. You’ll have to walk along the road to reach it since taxis don’t come to the door. Choose your room carefully: the two-bed room was lovely, while the other room we used for a day was tiny, more suitable for one person, with an extremely small bathroom. Still, everything else was great and I recommend it.

The staff were very helpful, but there was no clear way to contact the property except through Booking.com or the online numbers. The single room was basic, with one small twin bed and no TV. Noise and light also came in from outside, and I felt it was overpriced, probably because of the location. It’s in the middle of the Medina, but finding it was the hardest part. Taxis don’t enter that area, and Google Maps didn’t make it easy to locate.
