Riad Makech

The terrace has a fantastic view, and it’s a lovely spot for breakfast or an afternoon break. This traditional Medina riad is a few minutes’ walk from Jemaa el-Fnaa and close to an exit gate where pickups and drop-offs are easy. The staff are friendly, the room was clean, and the bed was comfortable. My room was a bit dark, but had AC, a huge TV, and plenty of luggage storage.

The staff were helpful and friendly, and the rooms and bathroom were clean and nice. This traditional place is in the medina, close to the main square and market. The food is reasonably priced, though the Wi-Fi signal could be better.

The room looked nothing like the pictures on Booking.com, and I don’t think it was worth the price. The bed, towels, and bedding all looked dirty, very worn, and old.

The care from Selaiman really stood out. He was welcoming and polite from the start, always ready to help, and gave us useful advice. When we had to leave Riad Makech at 4 AM for an early flight, he was already up and had made coffee and juice, plus packed breakfast for the airport. That small gesture meant a lot. He’s the most thoughtful and polite person we’ve met on our travels, and we’re grateful. We’ll definitely return. The riad itself is cosy, spotlessly clean, and beautifully decorated. Its terrace was a great place to relax after a day in the Medina. For us, Selaiman’s hospitality alone made the stay worthwhile. Thank you, Selaiman!
