The riad sits right in the souks, very centrally placed, so it was easy for us to get around. The staff were kind and helped us with everything. We felt at home and very welcome, while still having the feel of a nice hotel. We had an amazing stay, 10/10.

Getting to this lovely spot with a suitcase is a bit of a challenge, since it’s right in the middle of the Medina by the Souks. Once there, though, it’s a beautiful little gem: very quiet, nicely decorated, comfortable, and very clean. The staff were incredibly nice.

I have mixed feelings about the location. The Riad is tucked into backstreets inside the Medina, and you have to pass through one of the market streets to reach the neighborhood. It can be hard to get there, especially with a large suitcase. Leaving might be tricky too. The property offered to arrange for a partner to take our luggage down on a roller truck while we followed, then pay that person a small amount for the service. Some children hang around outside and may offer to guide you, then ask for money. I think that’s fairly common in Medina neighborhoods. Inside, the room was spacious, beautiful, tastefully decorated, and air-conditioned. The Riad is very pretty, with a courtyard and another inner courtyard where breakfast and dining are included in the stay. The staff were kind and helpful, and check-in was easy. One thing to know about the key: you need to leave it at reception whenever you go out and knock when you return. Someone is around 24/7.

The terrace was a highlight, with lovely views and a great place to unwind. The weather was warm during our visit, and the whole atmosphere felt just right. Riad Tahyra is beautifully cared for, with so much attention to detail. Our room was spotless and comfortable, the breakfast was incredible and fresh, and whenever we asked, the friendly staff brought us tea. Everything was lovely and made the stay memorable. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech.

We booked two nights and were really excited, since the room looked beautiful, though it was small. The problem was cleanliness. The previous guests checked out at noon, and we arrived around 8pm, but the bathroom still had hair on the counters and floors. The toilet seat was broken, then replaced after we complained with an old, dirty-looking one that was just as unappealing. I wrote asking to speak with the manager, who never replied and avoided us. No one acknowledged the trouble or offered compensation. Most people brushed us off and passed the buck. The woman in charge of cleaning was the exception. She was wonderful, understood what we needed, and took care of everything. She has real leadership and people skills, and was far more impressive than anyone else we met. The manager even looked at us as we passed and ignored us while the cleaner stepped in to make us more comfortable. She did a great job, but the rest was lacking. Breakfast got cold very quickly in the freezing main dining area, which has no heat lamps. In general, the place felt short on human warmth and personality, despite being a very pretty riad.
