Riad Marraplace

The atrium is beautiful, but the rooms are very basic and don't even have chairs. Sound travels, and with the wooden doors you'll wake when the first guests get up and head to the rooftop for breakfast. Breakfast is very sweet and carb-heavy, with eggs as the only savory or protein option. The location is what saves it.

Being in the Medina means you can walk to many places, and the staff are great and very polite. The room was the problem. The bathroom starts smelling of sewage soon after you flush or run water, and sometimes there was no hot water, so we had to shower in warm water. You can also hear everything happening outside your room.

The place and its location were lovely, and the staff were friendly. But the hot water was a serious problem for what we thought was a high-end riad costing about 95 euros. It was very cold out, and I had asked for two essentials: heat and hot showers. The room was beautiful and warm, but the water was barely tepid at best. We were in a rush that morning and couldn't wait for anyone to fix it. The hotel attendant tested the water and said that was all we were getting. Nobody acknowledged the problem or offered anything. Not worth the price.

I was able to check in early, with tea and snacks while my room was being made ready. The room was really comfortable and had a little fridge and a bidet in the bathroom. It's a quiet, comfortable oasis right by Jemaa el-Fna and the petits taxis point. Everyone on staff was lovely and attentive. Highly recommend.
