Sara and Jamal were so friendly and ready to help with whatever we needed. We came with our four-year-old daughter and she loved it. The place is cozy, comfortable, and has a charm of its own. Breakfast was delicious and filling. We’ll definitely be back!
You can come and go freely without having to disturb whoever is managing the riad, which was handy. There are plenty of places to sit, the service is friendly, and the rooms are spacious, though in some of them the toilet is separate from the rest of the room. The roof terrace is another nice spot for a bit of sun. At breakfast, natural light comes into the courtyard, a lovely setting for the meal. It’s an old-fashioned, charming place on a quiet street in the northern Medina. The area feels safe, with friendly locals and fewer tourists, so it’s a good choice if you want local surroundings and a bit of peace.
For 50 Euros, I didn’t find the overall experience worthwhile. The rooms have basic furnishings, and a curtain separates the toilet from the sleeping area. It was clean, but I found that setup disgusting. The kitchen helper seemed sleepy and more interested in her phone than working. It’s one of many riads that has been turned into a guesthouse with mixed success.
Once we figured out the route to and from Bab Taghzout, the location turned out to be quiet and ideal. At first, the maze of back streets had us worried we’d get lost. It’s a very authentic, traditional Moroccan Riad.
