Riad Roxanne

Travelling solo in Morocco for the first time, I hadn't expected the staff to be so welcoming. After a couple of nights, they felt like friends rather than just staff. Abdu, Fati and Faycel deserve a special thank you. Their genuine kindness and helpfulness surprised me day after day. I got personal recommendations for places to visit and detailed, honest advice about the city. Faycel and Fati helped me with everything around the Riad, and it was always a pleasure to see them. Abdu was kind and helped me personally, including walking around the streets of Marrakesh with me. We also spent some lovely time together over those days. I've made incredible friends through this riad. The place was always clean, my room was tidy, and the food was excellent. The kitchen staff were a lovely part of the service too, always smiling. Everything was incredible. I'd gladly recommend Riad Roxanne and hope to meet everyone there again. Thank you to the whole team. The people made my trip as pleasant as it was.

Our first time staying in a Riad, and the team made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, friendly and always smiling. We stayed in Fez, a spacious and comfortable room with beautiful tile work and decor in its own style. Outside the room was a cute seating area overlooking the pool and plants. Thank you to Othmane for the warm welcome, the tour of the Riad and tea on arrival. The two lovely women at reception and breakfast always greeted us with a big smile, and Abderahman's customer service and hospitality were fantastic. We'll recommend Riad Roxanna to friends coming to Marrakesh. Thanks so much for such a lovely welcome to Riad Roxanne and Marrakesh!

The cooking class was the highlight of our trip. Najat is a wonderful chef and teacher, and since it was just the two of us, we got to choose what to make. She took us to the souq for fresh ingredients, then we went back to the riad to cook. We made Moroccan salad, a regular salad, a tagine and fruit for dessert. My girlfriend loved it, and we spent 5 or 6 hours cooking and eating together. Najat also kindly showed us how to make fries, cake and mint tea, which weren't on the original menu. Her warmth and generosity made it feel special. This was one of our most memorable stays, and I'd highly recommend it to anyone visiting Marrakech. Every staff member we met was warm and friendly. They more than made up for the property's small imperfections and made the whole stay feel like five stars.

Honestly, I found the stay pretty underwhelming. The decor is beautiful, but the hotel needs maintenance. It felt quite dark and smelled unpleasant. Check-in was listed as 3pm, and we arrived after 6pm. At 7pm there was still no hot water, which was disappointing for a hotel that promises it. A staff member told us it would be back in an hour. We went out for food and returned at 10pm, when the water was hot, but the tank only held enough to fill half a bathtub. I asked about the sauna, but reception seemed confused and said we could book the hamman. The room was also very cold. The staff were generally nice, especially the women serving breakfast, but we've had much better experiences elsewhere. Maybe it's nicer in summer.
