Dar Nour El Houda

We were there for two nights in July 2025, and it was a perfect way to finish a long, tiring trip around Morocco. Nights in the riad were very quiet, even though it's in the medina. Step outside and walk for five minutes, though, and you're among scooters, donkeys, and souks. We'd definitely stay again. Because the riad is tucked into the medina with no sign outside, it's hard to find. Our host arranged an air-conditioned van to collect us and porters for our bags, for 180 MAD. Past the unmarked door, we found a quiet retreat: a modern take on a riad, with a small plunge pool in the open-to-the-sky ground-floor courtyard and two floors of rooms. We were greeted with mint tea and a map showing how to walk to the square and nearby sights. The host spoke perfect English, and our room was downstairs beside the pool. In July, we were glad to have air-conditioning. There was no TV, which made a nice change. The excellent Wi-Fi tested at 40Mbs both ways, so we streamed on our own devices. Breakfast by the pool included omelettes, coffee, croissants, pancakes, bread, jam, yoghurt, and fruit. They washed a bag of laundry overnight for 50 MAD and arranged our airport ride for 180 MAD. Our flight was late, so they let us keep using the room until 5pm at no extra charge.

I'm usually anxious when booking a room, but I felt at ease as soon as I started talking with Dar Nour el Houda. They collected us from the airport and treated us like family. The staff were so helpful, the breakfast was amazing, and the room was fantastic.

Oussama was always there to welcome us with a smile and helpful advice. The owners were a pleasure to meet as well, and you could see how much heart they'd put into the riad and the experience they wanted to create. We stayed in the peaceful, beautifully decorated Salaam Suite. The bed was huge and very comfortable, just right after busy days in the Souk or quad biking in the Desert. We loved unwinding in the evening on the rooftop terrace sofas with mint tea, away from the crowds. Breakfast was delicious, the rooms were impeccably clean, and the location near the Medina was excellent. Dar Nour El Houda gave us an authentic and luxurious stay, and we'd wholeheartedly recommend it.

This lovely Dar is right in the Medina, and the staff were great and always ready to help. Some of the streets get hectic, so I'd suggest using their airport shuttle to reach the accommodation.
