Riad Vert Marrakech

Breakfast had lovely Moroccan flavors, especially the bread, honey, and msemen. We ordered dinner one evening too, and it exceeded our expectations. The staff were so kind and attentive, and Mrs. Nadia was always there making sure everything was taken care of. Even though the weather was bad and we arrived late, they welcomed us warmly with mint tea and delicious local biscuits. The riad has a beautiful courtyard and terrace. It’s in the medina but a little away from the busiest tourist area, and the atmosphere feels authentic. The center is still a pleasant fifteen-minute walk away.

The staff were the best part of our 10-night stay at Riad Vert. Abdullah was welcoming and kind, the cleaners were friendly and helpful, and the food was the best we had in Marrakech. We also loved the rooftop and the peaceful atmosphere. We won’t return, but we’ll remember the staff’s kindness. Our room was dark and poorly equipped, with almost no natural light, just a window about the size of a letterbox. The shower drained slowly, and the plugs didn’t work well. After buying 3 new adapters, we thought the problem was ours and ended up charging our phones in the car. We rarely saw management, and when we asked for help, we had to work things out ourselves. That was fine. We didn’t complain because we understood the local context and still appreciated the city, its people, and the atmosphere. When we finally met the owner, the only conversation we had was about how quickly we could pay. The tone felt pushy and ungracious, and it left a sour taste after an otherwise lovely, peaceful stay. It changed the whole feel of the experience. We wanted to leave grateful, but instead we were disappointed. Seeing how past guests were answered in reviews, often defensively or aggressively, made us even more uncomfortable. Guests can have different experiences, and they shouldn’t be dismissed or belittled.

Nadia, the local Moroccan who runs Riad Vert, was incredibly helpful. She explained what to expect, shared information about the city and how best to see it, arranged taxis, printed documents, and went out of her way for us. The riad was a clean, peaceful haven with a gorgeous rooftop terrace and little pool. Breakfast was great, and the rooms came with fantastic shampoo and shower gel. My son and I had the loveliest stay, and I wish we could have stayed longer. It’s a beautiful place in an ancient part of Marrakech, about a 25-minute walk from the very centre, in a very local area.

Once we were properly inside and saw the courtyard, we were impressed. The service was awesome, with genuinely friendly people who couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was spacious and well kept, with a great bathroom and brilliant water pressure, which made me very happy. It was a fantastic place to stay. I found the walk from the centre a little far for my taste, but they had a taxi service arranged and ready to take us wherever we needed.
