The hotel looks lovely and has loads of Moroccan style. Its location is also very convenient, with great food a four minute walk away and the port close by for walking passengers. But the rooms let it down. We were first given an extremely cold room with no heating or AC, and the bathroom smelled rotten. It was right in the middle of everything, so the noise made it feel like there wasn’t a separate room at all. We managed to switch to a room with some heating, but that bathroom smelled just as bad. I think there may be pipe problems in the building. The toilet and shower are almost one area because the space is so small, and that doesn’t help the smell when everything gets wet. We visited in December. Bring warm clothes if you’re coming in winter, because the hotel is SO cold. They leave every door open all the time, so it never seems to get a chance to warm up. Bring earplugs too if you want to sleep well. People stay up late talking in the main area, and it’s very noisy. The chanting for prayer might wake light sleepers in the middle of the night, though I found it so interesting to experience.
