The Medina Hostel

Our room had a strong sewage smell, and the toilet was very dirty. We paid extra for two single beds but got one double instead, and there was no option to change rooms. Wouldn't recommend.

The location is superb, right in the centre of the Medina, and the rooftop is huge with stunning views. The owner kept checking that I was being looked after and helped with everything I needed. All the staff were incredibly friendly, and the free breakfast was great. My room and the shower were clean too. Some reviews mention noise, but I didn't find it too bad. You can close the room windows, which blocks most of it out. Thanks for a pleasant stay!

Rules here feel tedious, like being 16 on a dull school trip. Visitors who aren't staying at the hostel aren't allowed inside, not even into the common areas. I've never come across that at a hostel before, so I'd suggest staying somewhere else.

I had a comfortable, relaxing stay at The Medina, and the modern, elegant design made a good first impression. Check-in was quick, with a warm welcome at reception. The room was spacious, very clean, and thoughtfully looked after. It had a flat-screen TV, air conditioner, and minibar, and the bed was comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. Room service was prompt and courteous, and my requests were handled quickly. I also enjoyed the varied breakfast, with fresh baked goods, fruit, and natural juices. The central location made it easy to visit many of the city's tourist attractions. I enjoyed the swimming pool and relaxed at the spa, which offers different treatments. I also used the gym, which had the latest equipment. My experience at The Medina was unforgettable, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, unique stay in the city.
