We left and had to book a different place urgently, paying for accommodation twice because management refused any refund. I'm now pursuing the charge as a formal dispute with my bank. What was meant to be a quiet family holiday turned into stress, frustration, financial loss and an exhausting fight to be treated fairly. I've stayed in much smaller boutique hotels in Marrakech for half the price and had spotless rooms and impeccable service. This was the opposite. I'd urge anyone thinking of booking to consider it carefully. The owner was completely unprofessional. I arrived in Marrakech with my 10-year-old son expecting a restful stay, but within hours we were moved from room to room because of the conditions. The first room had dead flies scattered over the floor and smelled like a barn. The second had visible mould and several maintenance problems. In the third, the door wouldn't lock properly, a serious concern for a woman alone with a child at a remote property outside the city. We later found there was no hot water, towel hooks came off the wall, doors jammed, and windows weren't secure. The hotel looked nothing like its online photos, was overpriced, and didn't seem to function like a proper hotel, with no reception or proper team of staff. We arrived late and were made to change rooms repeatedly until around midnight. My exhausted son then walked in the dark into a glass door, injuring his lip and chipping a tooth. He's now needing dental treatment during our holiday. Despite him being hurt and bleeding, the owner showed no apology, empathy or concern. I raised the problems calmly several times, but management wouldn't take proper responsibility. Salma and Sofiane, the staff on site, were polite, saw the problems themselves and apologized, but the owner and management handled it terribly. The owner was in France and refused to speak directly, communicating only occasionally by phone messages. He ignored calls, brushed off our concerns, and offered excuses instead of solutions. Even though I reported the issues within an hour of checking in, he insisted on a strict no-refund policy under any circumstances. He even suggested I might be looking for nightlife and parties, when I was simply seeking a calm family holiday. That comment was inappropriate and audacious. Management kept relying on the non-refundable policy despite the hotel's failures in basic hygiene, maintenance, safety and comfort. The whole experience ruined the start of our holiday.
