The staff were so thoughtful and helpful, they even came along to a garage with us to get a tyre fixed. We spent five days in Taroudant and really came to like the town, eating inexpensive, tasty street food for some meals. Back at the hotel, the gardens and hotel are stunning, and Junior Suite Taroudant (room 17) was peaceful and gorgeous. For a quieter stay, ask for a room away from the main pool and bar. The heated pool made swimming in December a treat. Breakfast had pastries, bread, fruit, cheese, juices and delicious jams, with eggs and pancakes available to order. The restaurant costs a lot by Moroccan standards, though the food is good, especially if you pre-order Moroccan dishes. My one gripe was the €5 charge for drinking water at dinner. We brought our own bottled water after the first night and nobody minded. The hammam was fabulous and the massages were good. It felt like paradise as soon as we walked in. We hope to come back.

Yassin and the other staff were professional and exceptionally kind throughout our three nights at Dar Al Hossoun in December. Our room was charming, decorated with great taste, and had a fireplace that was prepared beautifully each evening. The lush garden was amazing. We also had a hamman, massage and pedicure. The two women who looked after us kept checking that we were comfortable and were very considerate. The massage was wonderfully relaxing, we'd recommend it.

A lovely place to do nothing for a while, with spacious suites and plenty of cozy corners for reading. The garden is enormous, on a Majorelle scale, and reserved for guests. We were there in winter, so the pool area must be wonderful in warmer weather. After the desert, it felt like a complete oasis. Service was good, and the French-style food was decent, pleasant rather than outstanding. We'd gladly come back.

The gardens are stunning, and spotting the animals was a delight for everyone. The meals were excellent too. Even during Ramadan, the team went out of their way to accommodate us. Dar al Hossoun is a wonderful place to stay.

Dar al Hossoun has a timeless feel. Staying there made it easy to slow down, breathe and enjoy a rare sense of authenticity. The service was high quality, the staff were kind, and management gave the stay a lot of personal attention. It was truly memorable.
