Florence Hotel

The location is nice, right by a beautiful park, and the rooms were okay. The service was another story: the receptionist wasn’t friendly, and the pool staff seemed very odd and emotionless. Also, the pool costs 400 mld. That’s strange when the hotel advertises it as one of its main features.

I booked through agoda.com, where there was no mention of an extra 400lei charge for the swimming pool. Breakfast was supposed to be included too, but the staff asked me for another 10 euro. In the end, I didn't get breakfast.

The rooms themselves were okay, but I’d avoid Royal Florence. We booked the whole hotel for a wedding weekend and, despite visiting in person countless times beforehand, found rooms missing when we arrived. The staff gave us various sob stories to explain the overbooking, and we had to find other accommodation for our guests ourselves. I found them extremely unhelpful and difficult to deal with, and the worst hotel staff experience I’ve had anywhere. This isn’t a 5-star hotel. The restaurant is a separate business from the hotel, and I believe it’s a money laundering scheme owned by the local mafia. I strongly advise against eating there. There are no breakfast options, and the pool is public. Avoid like the plague. You’ve been warned.

The staff were so kind and helpful whenever we had questions, and their service was the best I’ve experienced. They also kept our luggage safe when we left it with them. Our three-person suite was really good, with very comfortable beds, and the hotel itself is beautiful. Breakfast was excellent, and the location was convenient, close to everything. Thanks for such a great experience!
