The elevator was the last straw. It hit us, closed on us and left bruises. It belongs in a Stephen King novel, not in a hotel for people to use. We also had feather pillows that were dirty and dusty, and we’re allergic to them. It took 24 hours for those to be replaced. The staff ruined our stay. When we checked in, the receptionist followed us to the room and showed us the beds, then waited around. When we thanked him, he pointed out that he hadn’t shown us the bathroom yet, clearly expecting a tip. This self-appointed CONsierge made us very uncomfortable, and I could hardly get rid of him. The next evening, nobody was around when we returned, then the resident Pitbull suddenly came out of the dark as we entered the elevator and yelled, "What are you doing here, what do you want!!!!" I told him we had a reservation and showed him the room key, but I still thought he might follow us upstairs.

For a clean, safe room to sleep in, this is a good choice for the price. We found the rooms very clean during our two-night stay, and shops and other things we needed were within walking distance. The receptionist spoke English, but the friendly security guard didn’t. If you’re looking for the kind of services you get at a four- or five-star hotel, book one of those instead.

The room turned out to be surprisingly modern and comfortable, with a balcony I wasn’t completely sure about. The corridors had an old-school, boarded-up feel. I got there around 1530, and the security guy checked me in, though he spoke hardly any English. I got by with my mix of Slavic languages. There was a card machine on the desk, but apparently they only took cash, so I had to go to the ATM by the supermarket around the corner. Checkout was quick and easy. It’s fairly central, and I’d stay again if you know a bit of Russian.

I had a terrible time here. The place was extremely dirty, and I had to wait half an hour for security, who didn’t even know what Booking.com was. Completely unacceptable.

We were locked out very late at night and had to find somewhere else to stay. The place is advertised as having a 24-hour reception, but when reception finally got back to us, they blamed us for the problem and said we hadn’t paid. They didn’t apologize or acknowledge what happened.
