Hotel Iris

I stayed three nights this week as part of a group. This is supposedly a 4-star hotel by Moldovan rating. Breakfast had a good variety and the food quality was good. The rooms were clean and had the basics, including AC, a minifridge, TV, and hair dryer. But there was no drinking water at breakfast any of the three days. One receptionist spoke only Russian; another promised a jug for the next day, but it never appeared. The rude receptionist from day one told me to put bottled water in the fridge and “wait for it to get cold.” A group member had to bring water from our floor’s dispenser instead. The TV was in Russian, the phone was dead, and no one answered calls to reception, so I had to sort it out myself with Google Lens. Our floor had no cable channels, though upstairs did, and the receptionist was rude when I asked, saying, “don’t you have a smart TV at home?” Other guests had the same problem. The service was poor, reception was unhelpful, and there was no care for the customer experience. I wouldn’t return even if it were free, and I can’t recommend it if you want cold drinking water with breakfast.

The staff were especially welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. It’s a great hotel.

We had a last-minute urgency, and luckily they had a room available. The staff were lovely and helped us a lot, and I had a great experience. The rooms are clean, and there’s a smoking area. It’s quite far from both the center and the airport, though.

The terrace on the 4th floor was one of the best places I’ve visited, and there are cool chairs and tables outside too. For the price, this is a great hotel, maybe the best deal in the Chisinau. The atmosphere was nice, the staff friendly, and everything perfectly clean. We had air conditioning, a fridge, TV, safe, and a checkroom with a wide mirror. The bathroom was great as well.
