Satelit Hotel-kumanovo

During my three days there, I saw at least 20 rats, including one small rat in my bed when I woke up. There were also spiders and all kinds of insects, big and small. The room was small and smelled like a rotten animal, the staff were very rude, and the food was tasteless and very bad. Hygiene was zero, really minus ten. While I was asleep, the owner unlocked my room and turned off the AC. Go there if you like rats and spiders.

The rooms were clean, but cold. The AC wouldn't heat, only offering cold or dry mode, which gave little or no warmth. It's an older hotel, though everything else was clean. I visited in late March, and the first night shift staff member didn't speak any English. Their printer was broken, so they kept our passports on the shelf with the keys, which didn't feel safe.

It's a big, old hotel, and the room was spacious and clean. Breakfast was poor, nothing special. You can sit outside by the pool and have beers bought from the small market near the hotel. If your expectations aren't too high, it's okay for the price.

A handy stop on the way to Greece, thanks to its location. The staff were very nice and spoke English well. The restaurant wasn't operating, but it's worth taking a taxi into town. Breakfast was reasonable, good enough.
