Keinnara Hpa An

Our cabin looked out over Zwekabin mountain, and the garden setting was lovely. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. We had a very positive stay, though I wouldn't recommend dinner there since local places have much better options.

The bungalows are wooden, spacious, and really comfortable, and the whole place felt incredibly relaxing. The restaurant and bar had a laid-back atmosphere, with great quality food. You're right at the feet of mount Zwekabin, surrounded by greenery and nature. If you're going to Hpa an, stay here. Amazing, amazing, amazing, I can't describe it.

The reception staff were fantastic, friendly and very helpful, and service from local Kayin people was very good. It's a great training and employment opportunity for them. We had a lovely four nights and could easily have stayed longer. The place is about 7 km out of town between two limestone mountains, including the stunning Mt Zwe Kabin, whose summit stupas light up at night. Rooms are roomy and lovely, most with good mountain views, and the bathroom was good. Breakfasts were really good. The restaurant has a Western and Asian menu leaning towards Western, its target customer. When we ate there, we chose Asian food. The menu was more limited but nice, especially the lentil and glass noodle soup. Two things didn't work for us: we'd booked the skydome, but it felt claustrophobic, so we switched to a normal room, which the staff handled well. WiFi and mobile service were only okay at best, with slow uploads and brief dropouts, likely because of the location between the mountains.

The views from bed over the limestone mountains were great, and the room had a soft mattress, hot water, and strong shower pressure. We stayed two nights but would've happily spent a week. Lunch favorites were the beef burger and pasta; at dinner we liked the beef tenderloin and goat cheese salad. Spend the morning trekking or sightseeing, then relax at the lodge and pool in the afternoon. There's so much more to explore around here, so we hope to return soon. Thanks for a great stay.
