The staff really went out of their way to help with everything we asked for, and the cocktails at happy hour were the best we had on this beach. Our beachfront room was huge and clean, with a lovely view and a private terrace facing the sea. Lunch pizza and seafood at dinner were both tasty. Breakfast was fine, though a little basic, and the massages were nice, even if communicating sometimes went beyond the few phrases the staff had memorized. The one real drawback may have been specific to our room: it shared a wall with the bar, so it got quite noisy at times. That's why I'm giving four stars, though I wish I could give 4.5.

We especially liked the little bay where Yoma Cherry Lodge sits, much more than Ngapali's main beach. The place is beautifully designed, with a lovely garden, spacious clean rooms, and staff who really care. Breakfast was only okay and could be better, and there are nicer places to eat nearby. The cocktails, though, were very good.

The fishing village next door and the boats and fish drying along the shore make the beach feel like its own little world. There can be a fishy smell now and then, if that bothers you. We only realized what a gem this resort was after heading across to the other beaches where the other resorts are. Sue, the manager, was a sweetheart, and the staff were warm and eager to help.

People come back here, and it's easy to see why. The rooms are beautifully appointed, the staff are delightful, and the garden behind the beach bar and restaurant is wonderfully peaceful. Set on a lovely horseshoe-shaped bay at the edge of a typical small working fishing village in Myanmar, it's the sort of place you don't want to leave.

The restaurant has a sea view, and the food wasn't expensive. Nwe Nwe served guests with care, a smile, and a helpful attitude, and we could see how passionately the lady chef cooked. We stayed three nights, loved our big, clean room, and thought the beach was beautiful, almost like a private beach at this time of year. Walking along it was wonderful.
