The pool is a real highlight, with a small area for kids and a larger section where you can actually swim. Our room was clean and nice, and the staff were friendly and helpful, with enough English to work out what we needed. The bath water does spill onto the bathroom floor before reaching the drain, but that seems common in local hotels and wasn’t a problem for us. Glad we booked despite the bad reviews, and I’d recommend it.

Breakfast was okay, and the hotel itself was clean and decent. The ground-floor rooms have an unusual split level, with a jacuzzi or hot tub inside the room. There’s quite a bit of noise from people using the pool and moving around, though. It would be much better if they handled the noise.

The resort is lovely and close to the lake, and I thought it was good value. The bathtub had spa-style features and a sexy light. When I visited in Feb 2018, some rooms were still under construction, but there wasn’t noise at night. Breakfast had a good range of European and Burmese choices. Staff could improve their English communication.

The price is fair, and it’s a nice place for local people. The pool noise is the one thing that gets annoying. Avoid wedding days and weekends if you want to chill and relax there, so pick your timing carefully.

I’d stay here again when I’m in Monywa. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the staff are really nice. The pool is cleaned every day, and the WiFi works, which is more unusual than you’d expect in Myanmar. Breakfast is good by Western standards, with toast, yoghurt, and fruit.
