The rooms are lovely, with a meditative feel, and the balcony looks out over the street. Staff are extremely friendly, and breakfast is great. At $20 per day, this place is one of the best stays I’ve had, and it tops the options in Nyang U.

May Kha Lar Guesthouse has been in Naung-U for a long time, and the hospitality is warm. The free breakfast is phenomenal. Rooms are spacious and simple, and some have nicely updated bathrooms. Highly recommend.

Breakfast was generous, and the rooms were clean, though the bathroom wasn't. The guest house is quite old, which shows in the furnishings. It's on the main street, but the rooms face the other way, so they stay quiet.

We had booked ahead, but when we got there the staff hadn't set aside a room for us. We had nowhere to stay, so we went to another guest house, Shwe Na Di.

I stayed here a few years ago. It felt a bit vintage rather than brand new, but it was good value for the money. The staff were kind, and I appreciated that. Breakfast was nice too.
