The food’s a good fit for me, especially while I had a sore throat, since Northern Shan dishes aren’t spicy. As an expat, I prefer less oil, salt, and heat than the very spicy Burmese food I’d been finding here. I especially liked the tamarind curry chicken or pork with potato salad, a nice choice for weight watchers. This is a low-profile Northern Shan noodle place next to the COZ fashion shop, popular by word of mouth. It stays cool on hot days, surrounded by trees and plants. Shan State minority ethnic handicrafts are displayed throughout the upstairs floor, and all proceeds go toward helping those tribes. You can eat here and support them at the same time.

The avocado and tomato salad was outstanding, and the fried Shan potatoes were great too. This is an excellent spot for local food. They also support local crafts, displayed around the shop and on the second floor. Highly recommended!

The Shan rice noodles are so good, with a taste that reminds me of what my grandmother cooked when I visited her in my home country as a kid. I ate here a few times during my stay in Yangon and always left happy. The place is lovely, especially the outdoor tables at dinner, when it’s cool and comfortable and the soft lighting feels pleasant. The staff and owners are friendly and accommodating.

There’s no air-conditioning, so it gets a bit hot inside. The food, including the typical dishes, is definitely delicious if you like spices. The owner is a very caring person when she serves customers.
