The owner made getting to and from Ulaanbaatar easy by arranging the transport, which took a lot of stress out of our trip. At the lake, we also got a local tour and met his lovely extended family. The rooms are simple, clean, and comfortable enough for this remote area, and the host made us feel welcome from the start. We had a fantastic stay at BL Guest House and would recommend it for a warm, reliable experience by Lake Khuvsgol.

After accepting my reservation and charging me a lot, this homestay gave me a very poor trip and, in my view, deceived me. The boss stopped answering my messages and wouldn't communicate, leaving a driver who didn't speak English to take me along. I wasn't allowed to stay at BL Guesthouse and was instead sent to MS Guesthouse. This happened twice: I wasn't allowed to stay at BL Guesthouse and was sent to MS Guesthouse again. I think this homestay is extremely bad.

We had a cosy room and great food, and the Ochko family looked after everything we needed. They even suggested where to stay and how to travel from UB to reach them. We arranged a 12 day horse trek with them through Darkhad valley and had the best time. Can't recommend them enough.

That sweet dog was a highlight, and breakfast was tasty too. Our ger was comfortable and stayed warm the whole time. The family were lovely and made sure we had a pleasant stay in Hatgal. I'd absolutely come back.

At 10$ per night, or 35000 mnt, this is really good. Right by the lake and mountains 🏔️, and breakfast is included 🍳. Better than ub.
