The rooms were great, and the manager, Jay, was a nice guy who helped us with every issue. He sorted out a SIM card for internet, called the car rental station, and even offered us a free ride to the city center. The minibar prices were good, too. I really appreciated our stay and would recommend it 100%.

The location felt sketchy, though I can't remember all the details. Staff were rude, the Wi-Fi was bad, and there were cockroaches under my bed. I also found hair in the shower drain.

The hotel was easy to find with GPS. Coming into the city, look for the first overpass with a statue of a horseman on top. We drove from Russia, so the private parking was useful, and the car was secured with a chain. There are plenty of shops and cafes nearby. I highly recommend trying the lamb ribs cooked in a cast-iron skillet shaped like a cow. The owner speaks good Russian and studied in Irkutsk. He's a very pleasant person.

I stayed at the Chandmani for a week. It’s an old-fashioned place, but clean, and my room was large with a flat-screen TV, fridge, kettle, and heating. The bathroom was old and spacious, but clean and functional, with unlimited hot water, which felt great after coming back from the steppe. Staff were helpful, mostly young women, and some were quite friendly. The owner speaks good English and will do everything to make you happy. The area is rather dreary, with former Soviet buildings and a nearby hospital that doesn't inspire confidence, though it is very quiet. The main nuisance was the local guests, who were noisy at all hours. There were a few restless nights with drunks making a racket and female guests moaning and screaming during sex. You get used to it. There’s no breakfast or restaurant. Booking directly, the price is 48,000 MNG, and through Booking.com it’s 60,200 MNG. It’s never full. Kaikhorin Market is a few hundred meters away, along with Kentucky Fried Chicken and Pizza Hut, and there are plenty of local places to eat. The hotel is 6 km from the center, with lots of buses on Peace Avenue. Private parking is available and credit cards are accepted. Nothing is missing. I recommend it if you don't want to pay too much.
