Horeka Hotel

The beds were big and we had hot water. We stayed for one Saturday night in mid-June, in the room nearest the front desk. That location was rough. Traffic only quieted down for about 2-3 hours after midnight, and the front desk staff talked constantly from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. The door could be locked, but the lock stuck out and made it hard to unlock and open. We ended up sleeping with it unlocked and furniture pushed against it. I'd ask for a room away from reception.

We had a pleasant stay overall. The woman at reception was friendly, very polite, helpful, and spoke English well. The room itself smelled bad and was a little dirty. The shower also started overflowing after just a few minutes.

The rooms were quiet and comfortable, and there was a kitchen available. Staff don't speak English, but they were still extremely attentive and helpful. For the price, the value is ridiculously good. I'd read complaints about noise from the karaoke downstairs, but I couldn't hear anything in my room. The night before, I paid almost 20 times as much at another hotel, and this place was far better.

There are too many smoking rooms. I'm a non-smoker and can't stand the smell.
