The standard single room was decent and roomy, with a big comfortable bed. Breakfast is very good. It's a fairly modern, large hotel near the city centre, about a 25-minute walk from Khaan square. There are a store and a night club on the other side of the building.

I booked a suite and paid on the second night. Then I made a last-minute booking for a presidential suite, but they tried to give me a twin room, which I refused. After that I was kept waiting a long time in the lobby while the receptionist tried to reach the manager, who wasn't around. I was exhausted and sleepy. After some arguing, I got a room, and the real problems started upstairs. All the windows were open and it was cold. The air conditioning made it cold too, even though the country is already cold. There was no toilet paper or clean towels. I called reception again and asked if they didn't want me to stay. She said to wait and that they'd come to the room, but they only brought toilet paper. The hotel wasn't helpful or trying to help its own customers, and it didn't feel professional at all. I'm still waiting for an apology, but nobody is around. Book it and get ready for your episode 😅😅

After nine days without a shower, we got our first glimpse of Ulaanbaatar. This is a luxury hotel, and after time in Mongolia's wilderness, it was definitely worth treating ourselves!

The breakfast included with the room was excellent, and they did a great job for a very reasonable price. Staff were friendly, and check-in was very nice.
