Emperor Hotel

Getting around Macao was easy from the hotel, with major sights and shopping close by. Inside, the lobby feels elegant and the welcome was warm and professional. My room had plenty of space, a lovely design, and the modern comforts I needed. The thoughtful service made the stay feel special, whether you're traveling for work or a break. A memorable visit, and one I'd recommend.

The buffet food seemed old or had been cooked for a long time, and there was very little fruit or drink. Fried items weren't ready, and staff said they had no stock. At the sauna and spa, the focus seemed to be on selling services involving women rather than giving a proper massage. They charged more than the prices shown on the chart, with extra tips added everywhere. Other staff and women offered services while we waited for the massage team we'd booked. If they didn't arrive, we were asked to extend the time, which caused more delays. There was no entertainment. Be careful with the sauna and spa here.

The location is the one real plus, but the hotel itself is run down, with cracks, marks, and old fixtures, and it wasn't even cheap. The photos gave a misleading impression. There wasn't coffee in the room, and the advertised buffet breakfast turned out to be takeaway food in a plastic bag, with no menu or choice. I'd save the money and eat out. I complained and they moved us to a nicer room, but we shouldn't have had to ask. The listing should honestly show what to expect.

It's in a pretty central spot, near local restaurants, casinos, and a money changer. I stayed for three days and found it okay overall. They put me on a non-smoking floor, though I could still smell cigarettes in the corridor, which didn't bother me much. Check-in and check-out were slower than at other hotels I've stayed at.
