Grand Harbour Hotel

I chose this affordable hotel for its price and location, since I wanted to explore Macau’s historic side on foot rather than visit malls or entertainment districts. I’m from Southeast Asia. Many tourists staying here are from mainland China, and some large groups come for the entertainment areas too. A few times in the lift, mainland guests assumed I was with their group because I’m also “yellow skin,” then teased proudly that the hotel was basically a small China. The location is handy for local food, with a convenience store downstairs, bus stops nearby, and taxis not too hard to find. In the mornings the area can be busy and smell a bit, since it’s close to wet and seafood markets. There’s also a restaurant in the connected next building at ground level that gives hotel guests a discount if they show their room card. The rooms are small, as expected at this price, but clean, and housekeeping is good. Shower pressure is good. At night, sound insulation isn’t great, and you can hear outside noise even when it’s not very loud.
