The rooms were clean and a decent size for the price, and the location was great. But the whole third floor where I stayed smelled of cigarette smoke. Other guests came back late from gambling, shouting to each other and making it hard to sleep. Without the smoke and noise, I'd have given it four stars.
A family-run little inn that could work if you just need somewhere to sleep and plan to spend most of your time out. They provide basic things like a toothbrush and toothpaste, razor, shower gel, shampoo, and hairdryer. There's a kettle in the room but no cups. The mattress was very hard, and the water pressure was so low that I didn't enjoy showering. The price is affordable, so I'd still recommend it, though rates have recently started going up. If they keep rising, I might look for a hotel with a more competitive price.
The room was clean and decent, but my first stay in Macau left me traumatised. My mother confronted the receptionist about her poor, careless service when she asked for directions to a popular tourist spot. The receptionist made a scene in the lobby, and when my mother tried to film her to stop the outrageous behaviour, the woman tried to lock us in. She got physical with my mother, and the fight continued in the street. Since I was her daughter, I was dragged into it too. The receptionist tugged at my luggage and wouldn't let me cross the road and leave. I don't recommend staying here. That service staff member showed no hospitality, and I wouldn't feel safe returning. The experience was deeply upsetting.
The rooms are quiet and spacious for such a cheap price. New Yaohan, a great place to shop, is just a two- to three-minute walk away, and Senado Square is only a minute away.
It's a nice hotel a few minutes on foot from Largo Senado Square, the Macau GPO, New Yaohan, and more. At check-in, foreign guests are asked to show their passports and landing slips under the latest Macau immigration directives, supposedly to fight illegal immigration. There's also a short contact form to fill in with personal details. Staff said it didn't need to be very detailed.
