The walls were thin enough that we could hear the neighbors and street noise, and the place didn’t feel worth $120. The room was dirty, with a shoe mark on the bathroom wall, bug remains, and cobwebs and insect eggs around the air conditioner. There were water stains and handprints on the walls too. It was overpriced and short on basics like coffee, tea, and hair conditioner. I was quoted another $50 when I asked to check in three hours early.

Ms. Candy was really kind and went out of her way to make our stay a good one. Our two-bedroom suite was beautiful, clean, and spacious. The building isn’t fully accessible: some ground-floor rooms are available, but not the suites, so an elevator is needed. There was no hair dryer, and payment was cash only. Carrying that much cash around gets uncomfortable if you’re staying more than a couple of days. Hopefully they’ll take cards soon.

I love this hotel, especially because of the front desk receptionist, who also seems to handle all kinds of utility work. She’s helpful, hardworking, honest, and friendly, with a character that really suits her job. The people of Rota salute you for the exemplary work!

Everything was conveniently close, from a nearby store and J.C. Cafe to Taga Beach and the other beaches a short drive away. The lobby had refreshments from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., if I remember right. Our twin beds were so comfortable I nearly skipped the tour to lie down all day, and the A/C was very cold. The bathroom door was a bit opaque, which threw my coworker and me at first, but we got used to it.
