The San Anton Hotel

Easy to find and quiet, and the staff who welcomed us were kind and provided what we needed. The bathroom looked clean, but I don't think they used disinfectant or cleaning detergent.

The room had a blocked bathroom sink, cracked ceiling, broken furniture, and electrical wires running through it. Its balcony door was broken too, so wind kept coming into the room. This is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in, and I don't think it's fit to host guests. The neighborhood felt very run down. Many nearby buildings were abandoned, and there were lots of drunk people walking around at night. Avoid staying here, even as a last resort.

We spent a week in Malta and found this lovely hotel clean and centrally located. Our room was immaculate, the staff attentive, and it was great value for our money. We'll come back.

The mattress was full of insects that bit me all night. I ended up with more than 30 bites across my body, which is unacceptable. The receptionist at least moved me to another room, but that was all. I had to go out and buy cream for the bites myself. When I arrived, I was put in a room with no wi-fi and a balcony view of some broken houses. The area wasn't great either. Some towels had black marks, the bathroom was falling apart, and cleanliness seemed to be no one's concern. I hope they do something about this, otherwise I think they should close.
