Tritoni harbour suites

I had a clean, nice mini suite with a separate bedroom and a small sitting room. It also had a little kitchenette with a stove, a decent fridge, and an oven.

For this price, I expected more. The location is good, in the old city near the bus station and a supermarket, with all the attractions within walking distance. The room was big enough, the staff were nice, and the WiFi was good and stable. There was a washing machine, though I don't know if it works. Several outlets had a European plug connector, and the air conditioning worked well and could also heat the room. The balcony was unusable: it's tiny, looks onto a dirty street, and there was building reconstruction nearby. The toilet door wouldn't lock. The shower was outdated with a broken door, so water poured onto the floor; it had no hanging fixture, and the pressure was really weak, even on the second floor. The lights were dim and some were broken. The kitchen didn't have enough dishes, no wine glass, and just one dull knife. The bed was normal, but there was only one regular blanket. We couldn't leave a backpack after checkout. The safe was a joke, just a freestanding 5kg box.

The location is great for the prices around Malta, and the quiet studio had a chest of drawers and basic amenities. It came with coffee, tea, sugar, salt, kitchenware, some appliances, and a washing machine. The AC was cold, and there were extra blankets, an iron and ironing board, and a hair dryer. The elevator, free little library, and water filter fountain were handy. Receptionists were responsive. Depending on the room selection, you may also get a patio set on the interior terrace. A couple of drawbacks: the bed was a bit soft, the shower stall was small, and the keypad on the main front door didn't work. At least there was a lockbox with a physical key. Pedro and Jeffery were super accommodating and replied promptly. Tritoni hotels are strongly recommended!

The only real plus was the central location. The rooms felt very dark, with hardly any sunlight, and they were dirty too: there were several stains on the floor and a thick layer of dust on top of the fridge. The pool in the photos was misleading. It was more like a tub with no room around it, and it wasn’t working during my stay. If amenities are included in the price, they should be available, or the bill should be reduced. The balcony photos were misleading as well. Almost all the balconies seemed to face the interior garden, with only about a square metre of sky to look at. For that price, you can definitely find a better place.
