Outrigger Maldives Maafushivaru Resort

After visiting 15 islands over many years, this is definitely our favorite. The island will stay in our hearts. I love this place, it brings back and restores a deep sense of serenity. The reef is magnificent, with fish, sharks, turtles, and huge schools of colorful marine life. The Diving Center is, without doubt, the best in the Maldives: the team is highly trained, professional, punctual, attentive, and passionate. Their enthusiasm really brings their work to life. Excursions run every day, including trips to see manta rays, whale sharks, and turtles, all organized with flawless professionalism. The cuisine was excellent and carefully put together. As Italians, we can say it was very high standard, almost better than at home. Cleanliness was impeccable, and the attention to each guest’s individual needs was exceptional. Nabeel looked after and pampered us so thoughtfully, always present and genuinely caring. From the moment we arrived, the welcome was wonderful. Being affectionately called “Anna and Fabio” made us feel at home in a warm, familiar, attentive atmosphere.

We came all the way from Japan, and were greeted with warm hospitality from the moment we arrived. The ocean was beautiful and the island peaceful. Joy and Mamdooh from the restaurant team, and Ziyad, who looked after our villa, were especially kind and patient. We don’t speak English well, but they still helped us feel relaxed and truly welcome. Their genuine smiles and thoughtful care touched us and made the stay unforgettable. We’re grateful to the whole team and sincerely hope we can return to this beautiful island someday.

Our room was cleaned twice a day by Adam, the housekeeping team leader, and his entire team. It was always spotless. The hotel shops, views, atmosphere, and staff were all fantastic. We spent 5 days at the Outrigger Resort and were more than delighted by how kind and welcoming everyone was. Jinah, our host, was professional, attentive, and always available. We were very, very, very satisfied with her service. The buffet had plenty of variety and excellent quality, and the servers were outstanding, especially Joy and Shashanka, who were wonderful with our little daughter. A 100/10 stay, I recommend the resort without hesitation.

We went for two amazing weeks in 2024, and loved the picture perfect beaches, fresh coconut, friendly people, and great service. Our concierge was great, and we enjoyed every minute. The island and the people made it feel like a really intimate signature holiday. We’re going again this year, though we’d ask for more hammocks in paradise please! 😍 Chandana the Chef made it my best holiday ever. He knew I was vegetarian and didn’t have dairy or gluten, and went out of his way to get vegan coconut yoghurt for me every morning at breakfast. He also made sure I had a vegetarian or vegan dinner and as many choices as everyone else. It was so easy to eat healthy and delicious food. He’s such a generous soul and a great win for the Outrigger brand. The guy at the coffee also made perfect matcha for me every day, and was just a pleasant spirit in general.
